How much does Liquidation cost.

How much Liquidation will cost will generally be dictated by the complexity of the case involved. 

A more complex case = a more expensive Liquidation. 

It is also worth bearing in mind when considering the cost of Liquidation what level of service you are receiving for that money.  

As with any professional service, if you are paying less, you are generally receiving less of a service.  This can result in problems further down the line as things were not dealt with that should have been. 

Unfortunately if you do have a ‘no-frills’ service, then you will be the one carrying the can later on. 

It is also worth looking at what the Liquidator is willing to do for his fees above and beyond the Liquidation.  Some Liquidators will offer a simple, ‘no-frills’ Liquidation service that will close your company, but not help you in the long run. 

If you want to go on in business then you may well wish to understand where things went wrong, so you can stop them happening again, a ‘no-frills’ service is unlikely to help you with this.

In deciding if the quote you have been offered is right for you, think first what you want out of the Liquidation.  Do you just want to bury the company and deal with the problems that may arise at a later stage, or do you want peace of mind?

It is worth remembering that in most circumstances it is the creditors pot the Liquidators fees come out of.  If you opt for a ‘no-frills’ service now, it will have little impact on you financially, but may cause problems later on.
